Biography
After obtaining her BA in Education, Carrie taught 2nd grade in Oakland with Americorps for 2 years, then coached competitive youth soccer in El Cerrito for 3 years. In 2016, she moved to Denver, Colorado to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She completed a sports therapy internship with Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Colorado Springs, working with youth athletes in 2019. Upon graduating from the University of Colorado with a DPT, she worked in an outpatient worker’s compensation setting, helping to rehab patients with acute and chronic injuries obtained on the job. Many of these workers were returning to labor intensive jobs, which closely resembled sports rehab.
As a former teacher and coach, Carrie is passionate about teaching her patients about their health and the rehab process, empowering them with the knowledge and skills to manage their symptoms throughout their rehab journey and beyond. Carrie previously volunteered with Rehab United back in 2004-05 at the Surf Cup soccer tournaments, and has now come full circle to join the RU team as a physical therapist almost 10 years later.
